I think we are the only country where 76% of the working population drives solo in their vehicle to work. This article discusses how the Internet can be used to organized a national car pool system. I don't agree with how this individual wishes to implement such a program, but the concept is worth consideration.

I've read it and do understand the need to progress with consolidating vehicle use, etc etc etc. but the solution though is kinda freekey. It's so tight ass that anyone being so 'tight' would definetly not aprove of having a solution to their transportation needs the dawn of. Slight tunnel vision i have, no. They premise is logical but the solution needs polishing thank god they didn't inlclude more details about the id card - shoe size, blood type and body piercings. The solution can be simpler than presented i think.
Yes it's a bit extreme, and most people will resist it. I can see carpools becoming en vogue when those gas prices continue to climb. People will be compelled to change their habits.
